White Mountain Volcanic Tour
Overview
Join us for a tour of the White Volcano Mountain as we prepare together to head from Medina to the Khaybar Lava Field in a comfortable, air-conditioned private transport that offers all amenities. The White Mountain was formed by ancient volcanic activity and is considered one of the geological landmarks of the Khaybar Lava Field, one of the largest volcanic fields in Saudi Arabia, covering an area of approximately 14,600 km². The White Mountain lies on the border between the regions of Ha'il and Medina.
The White Mountain represents the center of the Khaybar Lava Field and features a variety of volcanic cones and elevations. It serves as a watershed area, with several upper tributaries of Wadi Al-Rumma flowing to the east, and a number of tributaries of Wadi Khaybar, a major tributary of Wadi Al-Hamd, flowing to the west. It is characterized by its white-colored rocks, which are formed from acidic volcanic rocks known as comendite. At its summit, there is a deep crater with a diameter of about 400 meters and a depth of approximately 45 meters.
Next, we will head to the Umm Jarsan Cave, which is one of the largest caves in the Arab world, measuring 1,500 meters in length. Inside, it contains archaeological artifacts, including human skulls, bones of predatory animals, and inscriptions dating back thousands of years. The cave reaches a maximum height of 12 meters and a width of 45 meters, with extensive passages and multiple openings, some penetrating to a depth of about 25 meters.
